Berdhanya’s unique way to induce meditation
Berdhanya Swami Tierra has developed a unique method of meditation and self-exploration that blends several distinct elements: Prana (life force), movement, conscious breathwork, group sharing, and spiritual teachings. Her approach is holistic, aiming to bridge the gap between the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of the practitioner.
Here’s an overview of the key components in Berdhanya’s method:
1. Prana Awareness and management.
Prana refers to the subtle life force energy that flows through the body. Berdhanya’s meditation method, which she calls Pranaontology, emphasizes harnessing this energy through segmented, directed, and varied rhythms of breath and breath patterns—and understanding its role in vitality and consciousness.
2. Posture and movement.
Gentle, intentional movements are incorporated to help release tension, awaken the body, and facilitate the flow of Prana. Yoga postures in meditation help break habitual patterns and bring awareness into areas of the body that may be blocked or numb.
3. Conscious Breath
Breathwork is central in Berdhanya’s teachings. Specific breathing techniques are used to calm the mind, energize the body, and anchor attention in the present. Breath acts as a bridge between mind and body, and conscious breathing is a tool for self-regulation and heightened awareness.
4. Group Sharing
Group sharing during the meditation course fosters a support system that enables participants to share their insights. This process fosters community, deepens understanding, and allows for integration of the teachings.
5. Teachings
Each session typically includes spiritual teachings drawn from Berdhanya’s own insights and studies. These teachings often focus on self-inquiry, consciousness, the nature of reality, and practical wisdom for everyday life. The teachings provide context and guidance for the experiential practices.
Berdhanya’s method is unique in its integration of Prana, movement, conscious breath, group sharing, and spiritual teachings. The practice helps individuals experience embodiment, deepen self-awareness, and build a sense of connection—both within themselves and with others. This approach supports holistic well-being and spiritual growth.
