Inner ceremonies are the tool for reconciliation. They are the place where you have finally accepted to surrender, to be equal, to detach from guilt and to make a step forward toward your own action of mastery.
With its two aspects (stillness and expression), inner ceremonies represent an integrated force in the structure of belonging. With your own inner ceremony, you start to belong and you present your sincerity through an action that’s sacred and synchronized with the divine will.
When you step into inner ceremonies, you’re asking the Source to partner up with you, to move you, to inform you and to locate you in a place of service. Inner ceremonies are successful when your sense of equality with the Source is part of your vocabulary. You stop being a child who fears the punishment of the Source or being a teenager who rebels towards its divine laws.
Inner ceremonies are the only avenue to reconciliation. When you open the ceremonial space, understand that your enlightenment has nothing to do with the external creation of your world, but with the deep reconciliation with forces that you had previously believed were the driving forces of your soul.
Inner ceremonies free you from guilt, from stagnation, from time, and deeply present the sincerity of your heart to belong to the Source.
Satsang on Inner Ceremonies
(Online Public Class, January 1, 2019)
Berdhanya: I’m really thrilled to have this theme on this day, the 1st of January, because without the inner ceremony we cannot really advance anywhere. The inner ceremony should be the first thing to do when we embark on any project, just as we do an inner ceremony on the first day of a retreat or when we recognize a moment of transition. Ceremonies create attunement between your intention and the direction.
In this particular year and month, there are forces that are quite accelerated. If you’ve already noticed, the time vector is much faster now, simply because there are more planetary influences together, one after the other. There are not only eclipses but also movements in the heavens and different alignments of the planets. This gives us the sense that linear time moves more quickly.
At the same time, ceremony allows you to enter in a place where you’re timeless and where you’re able to see the past, future, present and who you are in a single molecule or unit. In that unit, you have perception (or vision) and you’re able to better manage things.
The Activation of the Life and Love
Berdhanya: Inner ceremony is very much in congruence of the activation of the chakras that you want to put in motion. Usually, we present our intention with our heart or the throat or with the third chakra, or with a lot of passion, determination, groundedness or creativity. It’s rare that the inner ceremony involves all the chakras, all the juices. The intention of today’s ceremony is to bring all the chakras into communication.
Let’s review the juice of the chakras and how the chakras will participate in this ceremony. If we can imagine that all the chakras in the central channel are gates. All the juices of the chakras come from the central channel. When you have the love, expression and security, and a certain contact with yourself, the chakras (or gates) serve as openings to the light of the light of the central channel. In other words, the central channel is able to discharge into the Earth bodies — and toward what the intention is — the light and the juice of life and love. This is what makes your ceremony effective, impactful, where something is put into motion.
The Steps of Ceremony
Berdhanya: There are a few steps in any ceremony. For example, the use of the elements is very much related to calling the chakra of a particular element to participate (e.g. in pada puja, the elements are called using the incense, sound, fire, flowers and smoke). This allows the chakra to relax, relate and start to centre into the intention of the ceremony.
When we do a ceremony at the beginning of a new year, it’s not related to something planetary. It’s just because of the collective consciousness of the planet where, because everyone is thinking that it’s a new beginning, there’s a collective force that’s conducive to starting new things.
When we start with ceremony, we reassure our sense of safety, clarity, collaboration with elementals and also a certain kind of guidance. For example, the lower chakras relate to the elementals and the elements, while the upper chakras are more in tune with the vision. This month, you will feel like having new things in your life, new inventions, or creativity, some potentiality, some kind of idea or innovation. It’s a time of new beginnings where, again, we reconcile ourselves with our magical part.
What Is Your Inner Temple?
Berdhanya: I also want to address the part of ourselves that really can command everything coming from the ceremony. Again, it’s like when we do pada puja, everything gets commanded or projected into how it’s going to be, what’s needed, the best thing to teach or the people you’ll need.
Automatically, this month is about the desire you have to expand spiritually. You have that urge, that pleasure about spiritual teachings. Paradoxically, ceremony only works when your prayer is not charged with any desires.
If the magical part of ourselves is not part of our lives, if the priestess (or priest) within you has no space, you’re not really relating to your inner temple.
What is your inner temple? Your inner temple is where the sphere lives. It’s contained, protected and sheltered in the capsule in the middle of your heart. The inner priestess (or priest) takes care of that. Ceremonies are the vocabulary of the priestess.
Inner and External Ceremonies
Berdhanya: When we talk about inner ceremonies, it’s very different from external ceremonies. For example, what you experience in pada puja is my internal ceremony. What you receive from this specific internal ceremony is very much an external expression directed to enhance the quality of the vibration of the teacher.
The inner ceremony comes from a place of contemplation. For example, you may experience this when you have finished your chakra breathing and you’re just in a state of absolute receptivity, and open to certain revelations.
Three Types of Revelations
Berdhanya: Revelations can be divided in 3 ways:
- Revelations from the body: The first aspect are the revelations that the body would like to do (e.g. mudras, burping, moving, gestures) where the inner ceremony animates the body with an impulse of some sort. This can be very much like a dance.
These revelations are very private and unique to each person. I cannot say move your hands this way or that way. It happens spontaneously but in a very lucid, coherent way.
You’re not just moving the hands without understanding why. You’re actually moving the matter, you tangibly experience the energy that you have in your body.
In a way, this means that the spirit of the ceremony is entering the central channel and announcing a certain expression (or desire to express). With that expression, you can recognize what the ceremony is about. You don’t know until it’s complete.
- Revelations from feelings: The second aspect of revelations is when you have a strong feeling, but it’s a feeling that’s detached. You can cry, you can laugh, you can have pleasure, but you’re not really involved in the feeling from the personal you. The personal you is not there, and you’re really conscious that it’s the spirit of the ceremony animating the feeling. Again, this gives you another facet of understanding of what the ceremony is about and where it’s guiding you.
Revelations from feelings could come in the form of a release, giving expression to something that was hidden or did not have time to express. The emotional part is very, very important.
For example, last weekend during the silent retreat, I was unusually tearful, unusually moved in the heart. It was coming from the love that is difficult at times to contain without any particular expression. When this sensation hit the emotional body, I realized that it was also helping others to feel (or sustain) their own vulnerability, where some parts in other people could not cry. It wasn’t that they were supposed to cry at that moment, but there was something inside that was not being expressed, so in the ceremony, I embodied it.
2.-Revelations from Consciousness: The third revelation is a certain consciousness or perception of what a ceremony is about. You comprehend something. It could be an order or something important you need to do, say, or express somehow. The mind gives it a direction.
In an inner ceremony, these 3 aspects can happen really, really powerfully all at once. Then, you have a clear understanding of what this ceremony is about. For some of you, you may only experience the physical, the emotions or the mind. That’s fine. It all depends on the participation of the chakras and the Earth bodies in the ceremony.
We imagine that the Earth bodies are like a vessel: when the energy or intention comes, the elementals and the Earth bodies understand it, feel it and rejoice in that pleasure.
Invoking the Divine
Berdhanya: In the inner ceremony, because you’re so there and so ready to move energy, it’s very important that you invoke the divine force. In anything you do, you’re saying: I am in the divine light. This is my shelter. I am under the vibration of my teacher. And that’s it.
In that way, you protect yourself from other influences that may pollute your ceremony. This is important because in a way, in ceremony, you become the temple, the embodiment of that intention, and you want to be very clear of only one thing (and not a collective thing).
In a ceremony, you’re not going to invoke Angel This and Jesus Christ. No! Just call one single vibration: Berdhanya’s. Because you know that vibration, that one single vibration that you’re used to will speak to you more clearly.
Benefits of Inner Ceremonies
Berdhanya: The benefits of doing inner ceremonies are multiple. You’re training your chakras to connect with matter and you’re inviting matter to relate to the subtle. In that communion of matter and antimatter, you are the commander, the master, the priestess who is managing that flow between the two. This is absolutely precious for the master to organize everything.
Other benefits of inner ceremonies are :
1.-To enrich your sadhana and make it much more meaningful. Your sadhana talks to you. You’re no longer in the repetition (or the technical aspect) of your sadhana, you have the juices of your own essence telling you what’s going on. This alchemy between your conscious and your essence is mastery, where you become unshakeable. You know that, On this day, I need to do this. The rest of what I thought I needed to do is not important. It’s of great benefit in terms of getting direction.
2.- Feeding your own priestess, and enhancing the vibration of a priestesshood that’s free from religion. Bring the clan, the schools through time, and from inner Earth and space. They rejoice because they’re acknowledged. Tapping into this frequency is like acknowledging certain medicines or ways of being that are very much forgotten or polluted.
This benefits not only your heart, but it enriches the vibration of the priesthood through the cosmos. With that, of course, is the enhancement of people who are interested in spiritual life, introspection, self-realization, and so on. By activating that, you’re vibrating a plane of existence that’s very much needed to find a spiritual expression that’s not religious, not entrenched in dogma and nonsense.
1.- Inner ceremonies are food for essence. They are the communication of essence, how you open space and time to communicate with essence.
2. Your mind has to be blank. You cannot think about what your hands are doing or the meaning. You just need to surrender to the possession of the force that’s coming through, that you have no personal control over nor any particular personal meaning.
How To Do An Inner Ceremony
Berdhanya: How to do an inner ceremony? As I say, it comes from your puja room, either during sadhana or almost after sadhana after you have cleared the space. Spontaneously, it happens. It’s not something you can want. You just need to wait.
The other thing that’s very profound that I do all the time is the first thing when I’m conscious of my body after sleep. I’m not awake totally but I’m between two worlds and it immediately says: “Today is about this, this and that, and there’s a strong urge to…” Or: “Today is the day that I need to do this recording for that.” If I don’t do it on this day, it won’t be proper, it won’t be at the right time.
This is the moment when essence really announces right away: “Wake up and do this.” It comes with such a strong conviction and usually I very much defend it above anything else, because that will be the right action. And with that, everything flows. If I don’t do that action, then I won’t link the planet, I won’t link my flow with something that’s happening.
This particular month, there are so many things to link. It’s like a compressed time with many aspects. We should be very much aware of that inner ceremony telling you, Okay, Become agile. I tell you that until mid-February, there won’t be any rest. It will all have to do with action, inspiration, creativity, and innovation. Then, there will be a slow down and it will be much more difficult to put things into motion. That will be the time where you have to prepare almost the whole year and get the most things settled possible. The rest is just adding details.
For those of you with birthdays, this month (January). It’s even more important that you get more attunement with inner ceremony because it’s requesting a lot from you in terms of a lot of inner doing, finishing things, creating things, and inspiration comes to you. That is the inner ceremony that essence does for you.
You need to see it both ways: the ceremony that essence does for us to direct us and we need to obey, and the ceremony we do to call essence to connect with that. For all your chakras to be attended, they all need to be involved: your earth, your water, everything.
It’s not like you need to have those elements represented in external ceremonies, but inside of you, you need to invoke a certain fire, a certain enthusiasm and groundedness, all the elements that come. That’s why the yoga that we’re doing helps to connect and stimulate the chakras. And of course, the chakra breathing keeps the chakras in alignment, balance and listening.
What else can I tell you? Inner ceremony is our inner oracle.
